Re: VOTE! |
The name 'soccer' comes from 'Association Football' so basically they're the same thing. What you call 'football' should be called 'American Rugby'.
I know nothing about emoticons, so just imagine a smiley, winky, tongue in cheek here.

Re: VOTE! |
Just logged on,so I'm a bit behind the politics. I can assure you all I'll have my usual extreme left-wing opinion.
In the mean time here's a note for Snori, who I think only lives a few miles down the road from me. Glad you've told our US friends about the origin of "soccer". Did you know that for my generation (50 year-old ex-player) "football" is Rugby League? (As opposed to "rugger" union.) If an Aussie says "footie" he means League.
Right, back to politics. I've been wearing my Deadheads for Obama t-shirt in the pub (watching "soccer") this evening. I got it signed by the members of Living Colour on Friday in Tilburg. 3 years ago when Living Colour played Manchester they ranted all night about Bush. This time Corey Glover sang in an orange jump-suit,but it was only at the end when Doug Wimbish said,"Fuck George Bush." Is Doug becoming an old softie? I doubt it,I think he knows the GOP is a dead duck.
Living Colour were magnificent. I know a lot of contributors to this site appreciate good music, so check them out when they return to the US... And Fuck George Bush!!
